JOEL S. MOLDOVSKY, 76

Joel Samuel Moldovsky, 76, of Netanya, Israel, and Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015.
A native of Atlantic City, NJ Joel worked his way through law school. Joel graduated first in his class at Temple University School of Law. He began his career as Assistant DA under Arlen Specter in Philadelphia before starting his own criminal defense practice. Regarded as one of the top Philadelphia criminal attorneys, he became a mentor and trusted colleague to many lawyers. His cases were often high profile and caused a sensation in the press. He was respected as a superb and creative trial attorney. He was the author of The Best Defense, which he co-wrote with Rose DeWolf. Over his life he helped and supported many good causes.
Joel, a proud Zionist, loved Israel and was able to fulfill his dream of living by the Mediterranean Sea during his retirement. He was a brilliant man with a larger than life personality. Early in his career he could be seen driving in his shiny Cadillac while smoking a fine cigar in a big fur coat. He enjoyed helping others, reading, following current events, a good joke, and a great meal.
Joel was buried in a private ceremony in Netanya, Israel.
